Network folder access from Win10 laptop to Win8.1 desktop

Basically the problem I'm having is that I can't access a folder on my desktop (windows 8.1) through the network with my laptop (windows 10) anymore. It was working fine and suddenly states that I don't have permission to access said folder. Nothing was changed between the two, permission-wise.

I can access any folder in the drive (D:/) except that one... Checked the sharing permissions and it's set to everyone, full control.

If the folder is being accessed by another computer or open on the computer it is on then you will get access denied. Two separate computers can not have access to the same file.
If this is not the problem then you may need to reset the sharing permissions on that folder.
