I7 4790K, ASUS Z97 K, GTX 970, Windows 10 on an SSD. Ever since building the PC around 5 years ago I've had the problem of never being able to upload anything, anywhere on the internet. I can upload small files on to google drive, but cannot upload images/ files on to the web, discord, games and more. I also constantly get booted off of live games such as Fortnite as I "can't connect to their servers". I cannot connect to Warzone servers period meaning I can't play at all. This entire problem is linked and is quite obviously a connection problem, however, I can't put my finger on what has caused it. I've just worked around the problem for all these years but recently have needed a PC upgrade and so thought if perhaps I find out if the issue is hardware I can purchase a new part. I suspect that my motherboard network piece, or whatever it's called, is damaged/faulty. I've tried different ethernet cables and have replaced my router and provider a few times over the years and still no resolve. If anybody can provide any insight into what they think it might be I'll be heavily appreciative.

As "for ipconfig /all" the results show that Virgin Media is the DNS (194.168.4.100 and 194.168.8.100)

From the command prompt try "ipconfig /flushdns"

To help with doing that:

If no change or success then try changing DNS:

Use Google. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (There are other options but Google is commonly used.)

Five years?

ISP? Modem? Make and model router?

The router's logs (if available and enabled) may provide some insight as to what is happening.

Who has full admin rights to the router? You will need help from that person.
Virgin media, super hub 3. Not sure who has full admin rights, I imagine I'd have to contact Virgin and request the router logs. If I were to do that, what would I be looking for? Just to be clear, in a household of 6, my PC is the only device with this problem.

Who (Router Admin) can log into the router with the applicable user name and password?

And then can configure the network settings; e.g., wireless, static IP's, parental controls, QoS etc...

That is the person who has full admin rights.

If only your PC is having problems then the issue could be a physical connection problem (cable, network adapter, ethernet wall outlet) or some network adapter (wired or wireless) misconfiguration.

You can check the physical connections. Anything else will need assistance from the router's admin.

After a quick look, me. I've just accessed the router's settings online for the very first time. What should I look for that could be a possible cause? My system seems to have the same access as all others.

I'm sure it's not the cable as I've tested different ones and the issue has remained. Other devices which have connected via ethernet have not had this issue, so I believe it would be a hardware fault on my motherboard. However, for a hardware fault to block upload but allow download is rather peculiar.

As a quick note, all drivers are up to date.

Run "ipconfig /all' (without quotes) via the Command Prompt and post the results.

What AV software is being run on your computer?

Three things you can do:

1) On your computer run the built-in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

2) From the Command prompt run "sfc /scannow" (without quotes).

For more information:

3) After "sfc /scannow" you can try "dism"

Be sure to backup all data before doing anything. Verify the that data is both recoverable and readable.

On the topic of AV, rather imprudently, none. I assumed AV was the cause of the problem and so uninstalled it. I've reinstalled a few times and mainly used Avast. I'm confident that this problem isn't being caused by a virus, however, as all scans have come back negative and the problem has existed before the chance of a virus would have even been possible.

I ran "sfc /scannow" and corrupt files were found. However, after a restart, the issue remains, I cannot upload files on to any part of the internet, including discord.

I would love to try "dism" however I have absolutely no idea what to type and what to look for. If you could provide an explanation as to what that is and how to do it, I'd be grateful.
