Network Map software that will ping the IP address and indicate if a device is responding?

Hello all, I recently re-built a section of network for someone and mapped it out using visio, which is very nice, but I wanted to take it one step further.

I was wondering if there is a freeware program out there that has the same sort of network map functionality (where you actually make the diagram), but can also ping an IP address that you enter for each device, and indicate if it responds to ping, with a little red/green indicator, or outline, or something like that.

It would be incredible cool.

Nagios (which I have running right now) just shows a big star burst type thing. Not really very useful.

Yeah, I used one like ptrg (i think that's the right order for the name), which is geared for enterprise stuff and it was massively complicated, I couldn't figure out how to make a proper map worth a damn, and it didn't help that since it's in browser, there's no right click menu, so finding things was even worse.

This is a very small network in comparison, two servers, 3 multi purpose stations, two other workstation-ish computers and four IP cameras, with a switch or two sprinkled in for flavor.
