I wonder if anyone could advise on which course would be better for me.
I want to learn Networking for small/medium networks (Windows Server, small networks, etc) but not go into big networks (Cisco etc).
I thought "Networking Fundamentals: MTA Exam 98-366" then MCSA may be the best for me and that Network+ is a broader networking course which may not be the best for me.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Start with A+, then Network+, this will provide the foundation for the more advanced certs. Trying to approach things in any other manner will result in frustration. Though (and I may be in the minority here) I consider any certification to be only an indication that the holder is capable of taking a multiple choice test. When I'm part of the hiring process I rely on real life, hands on practical situations, which, in just a couple of minutes, tends to weed out those that truly know their stuff from those that simply memorized some brain dumps and passed a test.

Agreed.
A+, then Network+, then others, depending on exactly where you want to go.

And as above, having those certs is only one part of the situation.
I've known many people with multiple certs, that were totally clueless in a real world situation.
Having those just showed he can pass a test.

"Here, go fix this."
or
"Make me something"

Deer in the headlights...
I am working with a couple of contractors right now in this realm. Absolute basic 101 level stuff...and then - "how do I...?'

Thanks folks. I've done A+ and MTA Windows already. I didn't take up any exams/tests, just did the courses. I want to learn rather than get certifications.
Sorry to ask: do you know what "Networking Fundamentals: MTA Exam 98-366" is? That's the one I thought of first. I've edited my initial post to make it more clear.

" "an entry-level certification that validates fundamental technology knowledge.” MTA is a family of certifications developed to help people new to the IT industry show fundamental competency in various IT technologies."

"MTA is for people new to technology, who need to validate their knowledge of fundamental concepts before moving on..."
