Network question regarding UnrealTournament

How to speed up network transfer of Unreal Tournament files? When I connect
to computer running different version of UT it begins to download files...
But why is it so slow when we run 100Mbit network, and there is only few MB
to transfer? It doesn't help when I set to LAN option in UT. Is there any
way to fix this... Some patch or something else?
