Is there a way to detect when someone is pinging your ip address? I have zonealarm firewall

Anyways I want to know if there is a way to tell if your being pinged and if possible to make the pc not reply to ping requests ty

i know you can set zonealarm to block certain computers.

Firewalls usually should automatically give no response to a ping. Try your help files under "pinging".

Zonealarm firewall does stop it if you have the setting to max protection. i figured this out

Pinging essentially looks for port 7 "echo" on the target system.

Close port 7, and you are okay.
