Network speed configuration help

Hello,

I'd like to get a little help with my network configuration, I'll try to explain the situation the bast I can.

So, my PC has a cabeled connection to a TP-Link router, which gets the internet from a Huawei modem. My problem is, while 3 other computers in the house (all of them have a cable connection to the router) gets around 2.5-3 MB/s download speed, mine only gets 1-1.2 MB/s, though my cable is in the first slot in the router. Is there any way I can get the same download speed as well?

Are you testing this on speed test or how are you testing speed?

Have you tried testing a different cable and different router port?

Has anyone played with QoS settings on the router?

I've used speedtest.net. I've already tested out the different ports, no significal changes. The cable is a little different story, since the router is upstairs and my cable comes down in the walls, so it would be kind of difficult to change that. About the QoS, I didn't find anything, it's not even in the list (TP-Link 450M router).

Just a quick idea, maybe do I need to try something with the Bandwidth Control Settings and/or cloning my MAC adress?

Disconnect the cable plugged into your computer and take one of the other computers into that room and test using the exact same cables.

If low speed is on that computer as well then the issue is with cables, if it is not the issue is with your computer.

Let us know what results are so we can go from there.

Well, it looks like the cable is our suspect here. I've tested it with a laptop, same speed results. My cable is a BELDEN IBDN GIGAFLEX 2412--4PR/24 C(ETL)US CMR (H)--VERIFIED ETL CAT 6--US PAT., don't know if it helps.

Try reterminating the ends.

More likley it is just a bad conneciton where the cable is punched down to the jack vs physical damage on the actual cable.
