network status...

Hi everyone. I use Win2k pro with SP2 as my main Os. Last week, I installed "windows xp pro rc1" on my second hard drive. My Norton AV 2001 on my Win2k stopped working. So, I download a patch from symantec website. The problem was fixed. I uninstalled WinXp few days ago. Now my network status won't show up anymore, each time I start my dial-up connection. The connection can be made still. I reinstalled win2k(update install), but the problem is still there. Can any one give me an advice besides resinstalling win2k with clean install?

My system:
CPU: P3-750
MB: Asus cusl2-c
Ram: 256 MB crucial pc133 @ 100
Modem: Creative Model Blaster ext DE5625

The only thing that is different is the Norton patch? Maybe that's it.

Try uninstalling NAV and reinstalling.

im not sure what the situation is......are you on a LAN and have a modem? are you saying the modem works and you can make a connection to the internet, but you are unable to access the network? If so, what are your network settings? Also, was win XP set to act as a network server or a DHCP server or anything like that?
