hi I am new here, I have a problem.
scenario:
I have 4 Macintsohes G3s & G4s, they are linked by Ethernet.
They can sent files to and fro and any mac can access the printer. The printer does not have a Ethernet port.
It is not a problem for the macs.
The problem:
I have a PC on Windows 2000, I have connected to the Ethernet as well. The printer is now attached to the PC,
again it is not connected to the Ethernet Hub.
I have been advised that I can make all machines talk to one another, and any can access the printer through the PC.
But the PC can't find the macs vice versa.
though I have a Local area connection icon showing under the Network places folder.
Have I setup up something wrong?
I have apple talk and TCP/IP protocols ON.
How should they be configured?
Do I really need a Windows 2000 SERVER?
Or is my current windows 2000 Professional enough?
Thanks for any help.
