networked external hard drive

I have a segate external hard drive and I want to access it on 2 computers on the same network. I set the saring and permossions accordingly, yet when I go to the other computer and click on the name of the comouter with the HD attached, it brings up a box that wants me to enter in a username and password, but this system has no passwords for anything. What might it be?

MS networks work better when User & PW are used. Add a PW to your current ID. Reboot for it to take place. The try connecting from the other pc, using id and pw.
