Hi,

Yesterday our internet dropped temporarily. No big deal, has happened before and came back after about 10 minutes. It was a general issue with our provider based on the 'Is it Down' website, which showed a big spike in error reports.

However, one of our devices, an Acer laptop, hasn't been able to get back online since. The network adapter - Intel Wireless-AC 9560 - is reporting an error code 10:

'This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.'

We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device, and even did a factory reset, but nothing has worked.

Haven't tried a format yet, but I can't really see why that'd work when a factory reset didn't. Is the hardware just knackered?

Did your attempts include downloading the applicable device drivers via Intel's website?

Try running the built in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

You could also try "sfc /scannow" and "dism" in case some Windows files are buggy/corrupted.

If the above suggestions do not work then test with a USB wireless network adapter. Determine if doing so will restore wireless network connectivity.

I haven't attempted to download any drivers from the web because there's no connection. Don't have access to a USB drive either to download from another device.

I did run Windows' troubleshooters, and have no run sfc scannow and the DISM commands - but nothing came back as broken/corrupted :/

I should add this is a Windows 11 laptop, and the laptop IS working over a wired connection, so it's just the wireless driver that's the issue.

Are you able to use an interim wired network connection to gain access to the driver's website?

Just disable the wireless network adapter and use the laptop's wired network adapter via an Ethernet cable directly to the router.

If that does not work then something else may be going on with the laptop.

Any error codes in Reliability History and/or Event Viewer? Especially any that began appearing after the internet outage?

Ahh the latest Intel drivers worked - amazing. Also that was pretty simple, should've got there on my own

Thanks so much for your help!
