Networking issue driving me mad

Hi guys can you help me to stop pulling my hair out completely please....I have 3 computers all accessing a 2tb hard drive attatched to my technicolor router an until installing windows 8.1 pro onto my main machine everything was fine....i can still access it but it opens painfully slow with the green bar inching up gradually opening.....tried to map the drive without any success.... not sure what im doing let alone doing wrong but the other 2 pcs just had windows 8 installed and they work perfectly....i even thought it was a glitch on install and reinstalled but still the same ....please help!

it an encryption security issue, it will do that between different versions of windows alot even on a NAS System. right click on the drive and select properties, you're going to have to go thru the security tab and adjust the permissions for the user accounts you want to have unfettered access, there's also the advanced button which idr if it simplifies options with tick boxes or what, it's been awhile since i've dealt with that problem.
