Networking Issues - Verizon

I have just upgraded to the Gigabit speed with Verizon. I bought a Linkys router. When running the speed test with a wired connection, I'm getting 670 Mbps download and 371 Mbps upload speeds. Also 33 Ms latency.

I have gone through all the troubleshooting with Verizon, who, of course, had suggested that I buy or rent their expensive piece of crap router to get better results. They have also suggested that I have a technician come out to test it for $99.

I am not willing to do either of these. What else could be the problem and what should I do?

how recent did you upgrade your speed? sometimes it takes around 24 hours for the full speed to come through. you can also try changing the channel on your router? make sure you are using cat5e or preferably cat6 cables.

That’s a decent article. For 2.4 use 1,6, or 11. For 5g u have more options. Also what model router are you using? Just FYI, it is very hard to get an actual gigabit speed because WiFi/networks can be affected by a variety of things.
