Hello, to those who come to help me. The led light on my network port is a solid Dark orange The blinking light is a orange the solid orange used to be a green. on my router the port to my CP is a fast blinking green with no other light on. Realtek 8111E onboard.

My brother led light for his CP are solid Green and a blinking orange, and on the router is a fast blinking orange.

I switched wires around to test, but no change. Its been about 2 years since its been like this, I started to care again, would like to solve this. Never had any problems with internet connection, uninstalled adapter and windows7 reinstalled driver on its own. not sure what to do.

"utp 28awg" If this was not a typo I can't believe a company would be so bold to try to put that and EIA/TIA on the same cable.

The standard requires the wire to be between 22 and 24. You sometime will see 26 but it is only rated for short distance. 28 is way to thin, and likely why you have problem at 100ft. It is not a actually certified cable and there is really no way to predict the distance non conforming cables will run at.

It is really too bad there is so much fake cable being sold now days. Amazon has massive amounts of it and they are suppose to a reputable reseller.

would you happen to know more about why it would no longer run at 1Gbps/green mode?

the green light comes on at boot, then once windows starts its off.

The Ethernet card in your PC and the router must support Gigabit Ethernet, not to mention the cable connecting the two must be Cat5e at least. This should be printed somewhere on the cable, so check that first.

The Realtek 8111E supports Gigabit Ethernet but make sure the negotiation speed isn't set to 100Mbps. You can check this in Device Manager. What's the make and model of the router?

ubee dvw3201b Is the router name, I checked the speed setting, was on auto, I will set it to 1gbps

ah ok, I updated the drivers, I check network cord cat5e utp 28awg 4p tia/eia 568b. I restored default settings on router Factory, and restored port default settings on PC.
Still have amber light.

Are my lights on? names said it all, I should've checked the cord from the get go, second I switch cables the problems switched over to his, the cord I was using was 5Dollar 100foot the cheapest of all our 25ft cords. Ty very much.
