running 64 bit windows 7
cannot see 32 bit computers on the network. Is it possible to see other computers (windows xp 32bit)

Yes.

By "see" I assume you see and access shared files and printers.

Each Windows computer must be using the same Workgroup name. Make sure any third party firewalls are disabled (or else reconfigure to allow file and/or printer sharing). All computers must be on the same IP network (e.g., 192.168.1.x).
