So this is my first pc build ever. I wanted some opinions on the parts im getting. I went and made a lost on pcpartpicker.First time building a pc. Tell me what you guys think
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KnZJw6
It says there may be problems with compatibility of my parts. Can someone explain what it is and if i need to get different parts. My goal is to run games like GTA 5 on 1440p at 60fps, will this be able to do that? Lastly do you think this will last me in the upcoming years? I plan on buying parts when i can. Based on my budget I see the build being done by christmas next year or early 2020. Will this be outdated? Do you think it will be able to run games coming out in the next 5-10 years?

You have too much budget
If you are not building it right now, hold on and see whats new coming.

I planned building fron i7 4790 and ended up a ryzen 1700

Back to specs.wait gtx 1170, shall be similar to gtx1080.
If no overclock ,get non k 8700 and b360 mobo

You could change some parts to same much more.
Eg cm 212 led cooler. Mouse , keyboards

You are effectively spending at least 3x more than required for your goal. Here are the issues:

- you got only 8GB of memory - with that budget, go for 16GB by all means, it is becoming the norm for gaming
- you are overspending on a mechanical HDD by a huge percentage (2TB mechanical drive for $220 ?!?!? it should be 4-5x cheaper)
- too expensive case and PSU
- too expensive CPU cooler, there are cheaper and better solutions
- CD/DVD drive not required at all
- keyboard, mouse and headset are all overpriced
- you could consider getting a 27" monitor with same specs, since 24" is slightly too small for that resolution

Hey man sorry, I didnt meant to down vote your answer, im on my phone small screen and hit it on accident lol. The site i listed all my parts on gives over priced items sometimes. Like you said i found that same exact hdd for way cheaper ($60). I mainly listed that site so you could see everything i was buying in one place. Ill probably go with 16 gigs of ram like you said. I personally really like the case and dont mind paying a bit for it. Im getting the cd drive because i have GTA on disc that's why i need it. What other cpu coolers do you recommend? What keyboard mouse and headset do you recommend? Didn't know that about the screen I'll probably go for a bigger one then. Overall what parts am i over paying for and what do you recommend in their place? I really appreciate that you took the time to answer and just want to thank you.

Noctua NH-D14 is a truly great and quiet CPU air cooler. Cryorig H7 is also great, while being twice cheaper.

Mouse, keyboard and headset are personal preference - if you like them, go for them, nothing wrong in it. It's just that they do seem a little expensive, but nothing to worry about.

I will post an edited rig which should give you more bang for buck. Stay tuned 😉

You don't have an overclockable CPU, so no point in getting a Z series mobo. More RAM (16GB). HDD with normal price, and great SSD as well. 1070Ti is more than enough for 1440p, and it is also neck-to-neck with regular 1080, but $100 cheaper. Great PSU, but $100 cheaper. And 27" monitor instead of 24 with 144Hz, 1440p and freesync support.

Still quite expensive for my taste (due to peripherals mostly) but it will certainly do the job great.
