never turn off computers ?

hi all I was wondering about computers that never get turned of and how do you go about software updates with out reseting. My norton virus always ask to reset the computer after an up date, what do you use/do to keep the long uptimes ?

The only reason Norton Anti-Virus asks you to reboot is so it can look for boot viruses. The actual virus definition update does not really require a reboot. Norton Anti-Virus is a very cumbersome program, as it usually slows a system considerably as it looks for viruses everywhere all the time if you have Auto-Protect running. If you stop Auto-Protect, close the Nortom services then update the viruses you will probably not have to reboot.
