I bought a new EVGA 4gb GTX1050 ti OC SC to replace my GTX 550 ti in my system. When I attempt to start the system with the new graphics card installed I hear a single beep (BIOS ROM corruption or failure) and I see the gigabyte bios screen but I cant get any further. I have tried different usb ports for my mouse and keyboard, to no avail. The system works fine when I install the old 550ti, so the problem must be with the new GPU. I cant think of any reason why my motherboard (Gigabyte h77-ds3h) would not be compatible. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Solution
I managed to get it working by installing the updated version of my BIOS off of gigabytes support page for my motherboard The old bios was version f4 and it was unsupported, after upgrading to f10 everything works perfectly, thanks everyone for your help

That's the issue. It's the old board with the legacy BIOS. The 1050Ti requires the newer UEFI BIOS.

So it does. That adds a wrinkle. Can you right-click on your Start button and type msinfo32? Press enter. What does it say next to BIOS mode?

Have you tried a CMOS reset?
