I can wait till summer but.in autumn im leaving to army for 9 month. want to play .some games till then. my current specs : ryzen 3 1200, 8gb.ddr4. 660Ti (I payed less for this card 5 years ago and it still beats1030 and isnt too shy off 1050) I just hate its power consumption and heard nvidia wont support kepler cards anymore

Except a 750 Ti would be significantly slower than the 660 Ti that he already has. : P And while it might be possible to find a used GTX 960 for less than a 1050 Ti, those should also be a bit slower than a 1050 Ti, and fall into the same problem that it would just not be that much of an upgrade.

Now, a GTX 1060 3GB might be a decent option (or a GTX 970, which should perform slightly below it). A 1060 3GB should be significantly faster than a 1050 Ti, and at least around here (in the US), it's sometimes possible to find them for sale online for not too much more than a 1050 Ti...

Model Launch Launch price (USD)
MSRP
GeForce GTX 1050 October 25, 2016 $109
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti $139
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB August 18, 2016 $199

Not imo it isn't. Still, worth is something for you to decide.

Aside from that the deal breaker for me is the upgrade path. What you are considering is almost a sidegrade. The 1050 Ti is just a little step up from the 660Ti.

In short the GTX 1060 or the RX 480 would be my goal.

I like 4 gb ram in 1050ti would help with textures in some games... I wanted 1060 since lounch but waited for it to get cheaper but instead it got 2x as expensive in my country cheapest 3gb model is 400 euros and all AMDs are sold out except 550 and 580, one is downgrade and other is even more expensive than 1060

You say that you are leaving in autumn, so you will use the 1050ti for 6 months, (190/6) essentially it will cost you 31 euros per month, to be honest I don't think it is worth it for such a small upgrade.

I agree that a 1050 Ti would not be a particularly good upgrade. It's only marginally faster than a 660 Ti in today's games, and while it might allow you to turn up the texture quality in some titles, performance-wise it's going to be fairly similar. Unless you really value having somewhat sharper textures, I don't see much point. A 660 Ti should still be able to play any modern game at 1080p with reduced settings, and you would need to move up to a GTX 1060-level card for a significant performance difference.

thanks, thats why ive made this thread... ill wait until anything like 1060 becomes available :) sharper textures means nothing to me really... i just though 1050 ti be better since its 4 generation newer and GPU prices are insane... I dont think I can buy anything on the 660ti level now at the price I bought this card new 5 years ago I only payd 120 euros for it... prices are crazy for gpus... I never was high end pc gamer, I went from fx5500 to 8600 to 660ti, but prices never were so high

I dont have facebook and locally there are very few people selling used GPUs around me...

Right now, Newegg has one priced at $270, for example, while their least expensive 1050 Ti is currently $220. That's priced just 23% higher, for around 50% more performance in most games. And sure, it's a bit slower than the 6GB version, and the lower VRAM may hurt performance more in future games, but the lowest priced 1060 6GB cards are around $360 now, which is around 33% more for just around 10% more performance in today's games, making the 3GB version arguably the better option. However, it seems you mentioned the pricing of the 3GB version is a lot worse where you are. >_> Graphics card pricing is a mess right now though, and perhaps it will start getting better in the coming months.
