I started working a couple of months ago and am wondering if I should go buy a 144Hz moniter (using a 60Hz right now) or 1440p monitor. I am looking at a price range of 200-300$. I also want to point out that I play a lot of cs-go and average 180fps-200. every other game i play averages about 60-80fps.

thanks!

-Edit: I also am interested in ultra wide moniters

Solution
If you want to play really competitive cs:go the answer can only be the 144 hz monitor. If you're just a more casual cs:go player who wants to play other games too then get the 1440. Also, there's a lot more to monitors than resolution and hertz. Color accuracy, depth of color, viewing angle etc. So go for a monitor that you think looks good, not just the one with the highest resolution.

This is really helpful, Can you link me a 144Hz monitor you would recommend

Honestly there are going to be much better people on this forum for monitor recommendations than me. I haven't looked into specific monitors seriously enough to feel comfortable telling someone how to spend their money. But look at reviews, generally other peoples experiences are the best judge of how good something is.
