I recently got a new, very pricey router (NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 R8000), which I was hoping would have better features. I can now say that no. It doesn't. I've now gone from 30-40 ping in Fortnite to 50-100. There's no other change, and I've got not clue why it's happening. Speedtest gives 100+mpbs DL and 15-ish UL. I don't know why this is happening, or what's wrong with it. Any ideas would be great.

Are you using Wifi or ethernet. Wifi you could have changed channels.

Ethernet this is almost impossible to see how this can happen. Run tracert and see where the delay is. If it is actually your router you will see the extra 20-50ms in hop1. This is extremely unlikely since most routers you see 1-2ms. It might be in hop 2 but that is more your connection to the ISP.

I would swap the old router back and see if you can find which hop this occurs in.
