im a bit partial to corsair products. this case/psu are fantastic. although pricey. but for 3k you can afford it

case/psu combo - 304.98 - corsair 600t/corsair 850w fully modular 80 plus gold psu

extra case fans - 39.96 - x4 coolermaster 120mm fans

this mobo is packed with features. when ivy bridge releases if you opt to upgrade to that cpu in this board you also get pci 3.0 functionality. so a little bit of added future proofing, though this build should be relevant for a long time.

mobo - 189.99 - asrock z68 extreme4 gen3

just throwing it out there, but the i7 is completely unnecessary for a gaming build. you will see little to no performance increase for the 100 dollar bump from an i5 to an i7.

also. for 3 grand you should really look into a triple monitor setup. it really is pretty awesome. anyway ill see what i can throw together

edit: also, do you need windows 7 included in the build as well?

3k you could build one beast of a PC, but you could also prob build a pc that would run your settings for a little over 1500.

Someone made this build on newegg, is a bit pricy, but it gives you a general idea of what a full high end build could cost ya.

Here is a build I'm thinking of doing, I don't require a case or power supply though.

please keep in mind that this is an absolute premium rig. and largely filled with unnecessary cost. but if thats your budget, this is what i would order. however, as someone already posted, if you arent interested in triple monitor gaming, or keeping this system relevant for the next few years. an extremely healthy rig can be built for a grand less.

also, you might want to look into a different set of monitors for around that price if you want a faster response time. but that set is a steal right now.

Dual gtx 580's in SLI so you can play all your games including BF3 on max settings. This build also includes a 120hz refresh rate LED 3D 2ms gaming monitor and a cpu h/s that's on Frosty Techs top ten list. That pus down below is manufactured by Enermax for LEPA and is top of the line and that Asrock motherboard down below just came out on the market a few days ago and has the new PCI-E slots for the new generation vid cards not to mention it runs dual cards @ x16 seeing how it has the NF200 bridge.
