Well these are all the parts I want for my new rig. My existing monitor is an LG W2361V. Plus I have 3 more WD hdds that I will throw in there at some point.
I havent built a rig for myself in @ 7 years.
I will never sli or raid. I will overclock both the cpu and gpu but only moderately for totally stable 24/7 use.
I have three concerns.
Screwing something up that I can't "unscrew" later. (proper initial setup of ssd, trim, win7 )
Testing all the bits as I installl them.
Best use of ssds and hdds. and Most important is best system/method/software for being able to easily and quickly restore the boot drive (or should it be a partition) on the 256 gb ssd.
My thought was to partition the 256 gb ssd and use the 64 gb ssd with the "xdock" to keep pristine backup of boot partiton and stick it in the storm trooper storage drawer and maybe another copy on one of the hdds. The 1TB Velociraptor is for my 600 gb and growing of Steam games.
I have have been through the hell of a format and reinstall of everything many times for myself and others. I know it will happen again. I want to be able to just slam in a disk and or a drive, go have a beer and return to my rig as if nothing had ever happened !
Any thoughts tips or rants apppreciated. : )
