I bought a new microphone but I didn't know it was going to be 3.5 i was expecting direct usb. I normally use my m-audio interface, but it only has one slot. Which is taken up by my headphones. I tried directly plugging in the the 3.5 antlion modmic into the all slots on my computer's soundcard. Nothing happened. I uninstalled realtk and installed. I also have a hd500 guitar processor that's like a mixer. So I unplugged my m-audio and am trying to use solely my guitar processor for headphone and mic. I'd be willing to still use my sound card for mic, but just don't know how. I'll eventually get a 3.5 to xlr converter. But for now i only have the 3.5 to 1/4. Now there's many slots on my hd500 guitar mixer thing and I have no idea which to plug into. I'll list all the 1/4 slots.

FX/Send
Fx Return (left and right)
Aux In
Phones (used by my headphones)
1/4th out (r/mono l/mono)
Pedal 2
And if i take the 1/4 off there's a 3.5 slot that says "CD/mp3" in.

I just picked up a ModMic and ended up buying one of these guys to use it via USB

Even the modmic forum admins were recommending it as the modmic has an issue being plugged in to a non powered source. That should get you through till you can get an XLR convertor.

One thing I also noticed with the modmic was it was extremely stiff to plug in to the USB adapter. I thought it was a bad adapter till I realized I had to put some muscle in to pushing in the cable to get the final "click".
