This is on a new EVGA 3080ti, i7 12700k, aorus z690 elite ax, corsair ddr5, seagate 1000w psu and windows 11 with no overclocking. All of the drivers are up to date as well. I'm seeing crashing in certain games, preceded by black boxes and/or textures. In Total War Warhammer 3, the game (usually) runs fine until I alt tab, both in windowed and fullscreen, and then it has black squares and the game crashes shortly after. In Total War 3 Kingdoms, the game seems to run fine unless I turn it to windowed mode, and then it will bug out with black textures and usually crash the game too.
Nvidia overlay on/off doesn't help the alt tab crashing nor does turning off steam overlay. Other games it runs fine for hours with no issues, like Dragon Quest 11 or Space Engine which I can freely alt tab in and out. I've run 3dmark dx12 multiple times and furmark, as well as a ram test with no errors. Temperatures appear to be fine as well when running games. I even tried reverting back to the original, non windows 11 alt-tab settings via regedit but no fix there. I'm guessing it's a software issue, but I'm not really sure what's causing it.
Here's an example of the buggy textures before crash.
