New 4K tv makes monitor small

So for Christmas I got a 40inch 4K tv and I used my old 720p 30inch tv for my monitor and just replaced it to this new one, I have a good computer with a GTX 1060 and the screen is so big it makes my icons so small and start so small, everything is so tiny, it's on the 4K resolution right now, it looks really good. Anyways ha any suggestions on how to make my screen fit well with monitor without losing the quality

which version windows?

windows 10 has some decent scaling options

or hold ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel to increase desktop icon size

then either use scaling--type scaling in search in windows 10

or for just the desk top icons use ctrl + scroll

scaling can be used on more things than just desk top icons so you may need to play around with both options to get it how you like it

I can scale it so my taskbar and icons are bigger but it messes with resolution a little
