I'd pick the sandy bridge build, but doubt you really need water cooling. Go with big air instead. a Thermaltake Frio is $58 and one of the top 5 heatsinks around, easily a match for the H70, without the hassles of liquid cooling. (having to replace fluid, the risk of fluid leaking on the interior of your $5000 computer, etc)
Yees... I'll go with SandyBridge build and air cooling CPU the only thing I'm not sold on is a memory... 32GB (4x8GB) Kit DDR3 1333MHz ECC Unbuffered memory will work perfect with MOBO... the only thing i cant find a decent one... Any suggestions ?

there are only 4 memory slots, which appear to be dual-channel. I'd suggest a pair of 2x4 kits (for 16GB) or a pair of 2x8 kits (for 32 GB), of course 1 2x8 and 1 2x4 kit would give you 24 GB.

Got the memory....750$... pieces of gold... since nobody have any suggestions... on my way to build this BEAST...
All parts including bells and whistles +shipping came to a total of 4,629$...ultimate 3D Workstation... damn I'm good... can blew some competition out of a Water... 5K cheaper then closest ....oxx.... appraisal for the same ingredients for performance .. for their price i can build a Quad CPU UFO's.... :lol:

... I have never assisted with such a robust build, here, thus far, but it does look like you HAVE acheived a balanced hyper-rig and a very good value, for the budget.
I do not have the time to "validate" compatibility (via researching specs and QVLs) but will be very interested to hear from you, once you get it all stable.
Very ambitious, but not over-kill, by any means ... You are skating on the bleeding edge ... And, beyond any "solid" advice, from me ... Consider me a student, at this point, as I have not been exposed to this kit.

Of course ... One would have hoped for PCIe 3.0 (and a Socket 2011) but ... not happenning this year.

Overall this looks like a very nice build based on the new Intel® Xeon® E3-1275 and this Asus board I think you are going to very happy with this. I don’t think you need to worry about water cooling for it and as far as a power supply this is a great tool that I have used a lot it will show you the lower end of what you need for a power supply http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp. One thing I do want to point out with these E3 processors is that they won’t have the same overclocking ability that the Intel Core™ I5 2500K or I7 2600K. The big advantage that you pick up with the Intel Xeons is the ability to support ECC memory, which for this type of work is a big advantage.

That PSU calculator link did not work, for me, ... not sure why.
Off-hand, loaded up, like that, with overhead for a 2nd GPU, I'm just gonna make a liberal guess that you will need a Seasonic X-series in the ~850W range.
I think 1kwatt would be a maximum high end .
Cosrsair (any model above ~800watts, would be my second pick).
I am much more familiar with the X58 kit but, have heard the sandies use less power and certainly should do fine with a single fan (push) hyper212+ 120mm air cooler. If what the INTEL rep says is true, about limited OC, then you'd might as well go with the stock cooler, as it is designed for the rated clock.
I belive you might have actually had better performance, with a pair of GTX 570s, or even 560ti s, if, as Illy tried both the Quadros and the GTXs, in the same system and (for unknown reasons), the GTX trounced the quadro ... Further, some of the other forums/owners had confirmed this.
Depends on the exact sw module/rev that you are running, I am sure, but ... If you go over that ws mega-thread, where I have been hanging out, and read those pages where Illy completed his build (and ran tests and posted benches), you may get a better handle, on the difference. We were a bit surprised.

...originally i were going to do 2xGTX590 SLI... but after a 1,5 hour chat with Nvidia tech support I got convinced to use ECC advantage of Quadro over 590... now Im thinking down the road to add single 590 to it... and yes thank you for the power unit tip

...i decided to go with most practical one for specific needs E3-1275 has it all.. embedded, ECC.. most graphic support and a price of course ... can't beat that and having turbo option up to 3.8Ghz i want to make my Xeon happy with 135 mm air cooling device ZALMAN...wich will impact GPU and RAM due to its open FAN design..
as far as overclocking I'm not considering it as an issue since this machine is not for Sport's ...its a moneymaking Workbench

I still think that a Seasonic X850Watt woulda given better headroom, given your proclivities and orientation but, what u got will do, for now.
Them vertex-3's will prolly do more fer yer "snap", than anything else.
