The size of my new SSD went from 465GB to 384GB

I made a new C: Drive/Boot drive of a crucial mx500 500GB into a Z420 rebuild

I installed and got the system running with Win 7 64

The crucial mx500 500GB was actually 465GBs

After the Wins 7 64 install plus Avast antivirus and NVIDIA install for my K5200

The size of my SSD went from 465GB to 384GB

80GB seem alright or is something off?

Solution
31+24...thats 55GB right there.
So your 80GB consumption for a "new" install would be just about right.

Reduce the pagefile size, and/or disable hibernation.
Or, leave it as is.

Especially when I click on C: to look inside I see just 7 files, stuff like program files, and the Windows file is the largest at 21GB, all the files together equal 25 GB instead of the 80GB that brings the hard drive from 465GB to 385GB

Install and run either WinDirStat, or WizTree.

Run as Administrator, selecting only the drive in question.
Post a screencap here.

Also, a screencap of your Disk Management window.

OK so thank you @USAFRet

I went and downloaded Wiztree like you said and I saw of the folders like Windows and Program Files on C: taking up a around 28GB

That the other 55gb were coming from two sources

31GB was for pagefile.sys which is like virtual memory, right?

24GB was for hiberfil.sys for hibernation setup and access, right?

So 28GB from C: Folders and 55GB were coming from the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys for the total 83GB taken from computer/windows setup leaving the C: from around 465 to 382GB

Now I know I could edit and adjust the virtual memory and hibernation functions, but I have another 2nd additional storage drive of 1TB on this computer, so I'm thinking everything looks cool with the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys, maybe I should leave everything alone and move forward and accept somewhere down the line I'll be glad to have those functions in place.

What do you think?
