Good afternoon everyone, I am hoping to find someone that could help me with the situation I am having as contacting AMD or Gigabyte requires me taking off work as they are only open until 3:30pm EST Monday-Friday. I recently just bought a Gigabyte 6750XT and installed it in a Razer core X EGPU being used with my laptop through thunderbolt. The gpu is being used with an external monitor through display port (Acer Predator XB323U 270hz), Laptop spec's are Dell G7-7590, i7-9750h, rtx 2060, 32 gb of 2666mhz ram, 1 TB of SSD and running the most current BIOS.

At first I had an issue with the AMD software continuing to say it wasn't compatible with my graphics card, got that fixed and now the AMD software works and the gpu is working. If i bench test the gpu it will bench test ok, as soon as i jump into a game like Apex legends it runs horrible getting a steady 30-40fps and spiking everywhere compared to the 120-144 fps+ running off the 2060. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the AMD software multiple times, all windows drivers are updated and has the most current AMD software. If i disconnect the 6750 XT running horribly and run the game off the RTX 2060 the game runs perfectly fine. Do i have to uninstall all the Nvidia software to be able to run the AMD software? Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!

Can you walk us through how you went about that? Did you use DDU to remove said drivers? If so, did you manually reinstall with the latest GPU drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator?

I'd try and rid your platform off of Nvidia's discrete GPU drivers but you will experience an issue when you're on the move where you will need to have the aforementioned driver installed.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I have been on this site alot doing research and figured it was time to join.

I uninstalled it by going to apps, then going using amd's compatibility finder software would re download it. It sounds like if I go this route I would have to reinstall the nvidia drivers when I wanted to use it away from the egpu with the 6750xt? If that's the case and it has to be a Nvidia GPU to avoid that I could always just return it and get a 3070 ti/3080 or may just end up biting the bullet and going ahead and finally order everything to build a desktop rig and keep the 6750 xt. Atleast it would give me an excuse to spend money on building a rig I have been wanting? Lol
