New <800 Gaming Build. Need suggestions and feedback.

I'm going to build a new computer for gaming, school work, and everyday use. The monitor and OS will be supplied by my uncle, and I will find a way to get the speakers, mouse, keyboard, etc later on. Any feedback is appreciated and if anything doesn't work/isn't compatiable, please tell me.

It's a solid build, I wouldn't change anything. Well, maybe i would get a 1TB HDD because the price difference is not much. But then again, you probably won't need the extra storage.

the i5 3570k just nukes the phenom. dont bother. if you are on a tighter budget yes but then there are options that use 1/3 of the power that perform the same as a phenom

Yeah the i5 is way better. I bought a phenom because my budget wouldn't let me buy an i5-2500 ant the time I built this. It does the job quite well. The only game I play is BF3 and I play mostly on the auto settings just because I don't notice such a big difference with Ultra. But I CAN play on ultra smoothly. So for the moment there is no need to upgrade it. And if I do upgrade, I will stay with AMD becaude I dont want to buy a new motherboard.

It may be better to go with TheBigTroll's original build if you would like for your system to retain a little more reliability.

*WARNING*

I have heard of some people that have had issues with the Sapphire HD 7870. Their monitors go black and produce no video. I'm sure Sapphire and AMD have addressed this problem, and I don't believe you'll experience the same issues.

Likewise, older models of the Seagate Barracuda HDD experienced high failure rates due to faulty firmware or something. I'm quite certain this issue has also been resolved with newer Seagate drives.
