Hi,

I have just installed DDR3 1600 Mhz 8GB RAM into my system and it refuses to load into Windows 10. Here are my specs:

Intel core i5-650 @ 3.2 Ghz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 750
Motherboard (Not too sure what brand as it is secondhand from a server)
250 GB HDD from Seagate
230 V PSU (Not too sure what brand)

I know that if I remove the 8GB RAM from my motherboard and replace it with my old 4GB stick my computer will load into Windows 10 and work. I believe it may have something to do with my PSU but as far as I can tell I should have more than enough power to operate.

Thanks :)

It does boot to my BIOS screen but I can't enter the BIOS setup as it doesnt want to power my keyboard even when just turning on.

Yes it works completely fine with just the 4GB stick in

Hello... You may have a RAM stick compatibility problem then with your MB CHIPset... Don't plug it in any more, RMA it and check the WEBsite/Brand for Compatibility with your MB B )

Look in your WEI score / infor screen for your Chipset # and MB listed there.

intels says there is a 16 GB max for that CPU... you might have only a 4gb max memory per slot?

Solution

How am I supposed to know what motherboard I have? I have checked with CPU-Z and it doesn't tel me any brand. And what do you mean by RMA?

Possibly Im not too sure if my motherboard supports more than 4GB per slot and it would only be a total of 12GB if it does.
