New 970 wont work

i just got my new gtx 970 and when i plug it in and try to display it, nothing shows up on my monitor. i was runing off of integrated graphics (asus z97-a usb 3.1). if anyone could help that would be great

How is the card connected to monitor.

make sure you connect the cable to the video card not motherboard
and is card's fan spinning?
Did you check monitor's input source?

cx750w psu
asus z-97-a usb 3.1
asus strix 970

the fans were spinning and the power light was on. im using a dvi cable

do i need to uninstall the intel integrated graphics? hd4600 is the on board
