New 990FXA-GD65 mobo, and the fans won't stop running at 100%

I've enabled quiet'n'cool in the bios and smart fan as well. I think my cpu fan might be the problem, it only has a 3 pin connector instead of the 4 pin, looking in the manual it looks like the 4th pin is control. Do I just need to get a fan with 4 pins? I tried manually setting the fans to 50% as well and there is no change in the system or cpu fan. I would greatly appreciate any help, so thanks in advance guys.

Yes. On many boards, the 4th pin is for the smart fan reading. A few boards will work with 3 or 4 pins using smartfan, but your's may not. Look for 4 pin fan; if the shipping drives up the cost too high, Look for a used fan (or cpu heatsink) at your local computer shop or check goodwill, which sells alot of old computer stuff.

o1 die is right just run to local store and grab one for few $. Just make sure you have screws that fit.

Have you tried the GigaByte fan utility ??

If it does not work, time to pester tech support

Check in the BIOS where it says fan modulation.
There ought to be 2 options, DC & PWM. If your CPU fan is a 3 Pin one set that option to DC and if it is a 4 pin one set it to PWM.
You get control of all the fans.
