I just installed a new Corsair H100i v2 on an old I7-980x on anAsus P6X58D motherboard. The PC keeps randomly rebooting. It keeps randomly rebooting. It’s definitely some sort of hardware issue. It will work fine for awhile. I ran stress tests, did some video conversion etc. No problems, no heat issues at all, then it will just shut down out of the blue then keep trying to reboot about 2-3 times until it is finally successful.
Sometimes I get a message from the BIOS “system overclocking failed press F1 to load settings” or something along those lines. I’m just not certain what it can be? When I pulled out the motherboard to install the aio cooler I cleaned the CPU, checked connections etc. I did not reseat the RAM. The PSU is a Corsair RM1000 only about 3 years old, doesn’t seem to be the issue. Any ideas?
Wanted to add the RAM is running in XMP and has been for the last 8 years with no problems. Random non-software related crashes never happened prior to this cooler install. But then again I’ve neve completely pulled out the motherboard since the initial build until now. I’ve run logs in HW Monitor.
