News New Aleo Crypto Coin May Give GPU Miners A Second Chance

There's literally hundreds of crypto coins on the market that can be mined with GPUs and hundreds more that can be mined with CPUs. There's enough open source code out there that any kid in any basement can "develop" their own coin in a couple weeks.
That's why so many of them are based on lazy meme jokes, like Dogecoin.

The tech isn't the hard part. The hard part is convincing people to give you billions of dollars for a fake internet number that has no value or purpose.
That's a lot harder now that people are realizing the crypto exchanges are also unregulated and unsecure junk products that were also thrown thrown together in some kid's basement.

* these coins, they are basically fueling the greedy and inflate everything, provide a lot of waste heat and accelerating the death of the climate for some useless junk numbers, which, wastes storage space and network speed also, and then feeding Ngreedia for crazy pricing *

Ive been in crypto a long time. After much reading up on this and following this project it presents no major benefits in terms of efficiency that could not be added to other transactions chains like Ethereum. Their major selling point is "privacy" so it very much seems like another grift coin just like how people were praising RVN and some ETH off shoots. This coin is net negative benefits that out weigh anything the developers are attempting to convey the proof is in the code and happening real time from their test net results. It they are truly proud of the work they should be collaborating with other POS developers because we need more effective ways of applying gas fees. People will pay them for this works handsomly as it effects the entire industry and clearly has an effect on pricing of power in some places.
Calling it now. Doa

Disappointing article fails to compare/contrast to other coins, or provide any compelling reason why this currency would be adopted.

New crypto-currencies are being created all the time. Please tell us why we should care (or worry) about this one.

P.S. I'm not one to give much heed to conspiracy theories, but it does indeed seem plausible that Intel or one of the other crypto ASIC makers might try to sponsor the development of a new crypto-currency.

Aleo could be the next commodity. Miners reportedly buy Intel Xeon E5 processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards for mining Aleo.

What a complete waste of electricity. If you Absolutely NEED to mine something do Gridcoin. At least then you are actually helping advance science. Using top of the line hardware on Solving pointless algorithms has to be the stupidest waste of resources. Dumb.
