My non-gamer AM5 parts list. APU will work for me this go-round. Could always purchase a decent CPU and video card in the future.
What would of you done if given the same situation?
Left a little wiggle room for upgrading.
I decided USB4 in the future not today.

If you’re on a budget and don’t care about max performance…if you’ve got Microcenter near you they’ve been running a special with an i7 12700k, board and 16gb ddr4 for 299. Might be worth considering and tossing in a little extra ram. Though I think they had a ryzen 7700, board and 32gb ddr5 for 400. So would be worth check those out.

My main PC I built about two years. RTX5950x, 3080ti FTW3. Waste of money for me. The three thermostatically controlled cooling fans rarely spin up.

No microcenters around Phoenix, AZ. I mix it up looking for the best price. Amazon and Bestbuy.

I looked into similar options you mentioned. Yes, you can also go that route. Took me a while to make up my mind..
