New AMD gaming CPU's?

Hi im wondering if anyone has heard if AMD will be making more gaming CPU'S or are they sticking with useless APU'S from now on (the internet is very unclear on this). I have an AMD rig right now fx 6350 and an ASUS M5A99X MOBO and i do not have the money right now to buy and new motherboard and processor from intel. So do you guys think AMD will make another round of maybe FX CPU's that can compete with intel in the near future? And do u think it would use AM3 socket?

I think that socket is dead. Recently switch from the FX 6300 & ASUS M5A99FX to the i5 4690k & ASUS Z97 A.

I doubt it will use AM3 and they've said they won't have anything in the performance CPU market for a while, probably end of 2015 or 2016 at the earliest. Your best bet if you are making a gaming machine currently is just switch to Intel. Unless of course you are stretching out your existing machine to be replaced in 2016.

AMD has pretty much abandoned the enthusiast market. You still have an upgrade path from the 6350, though I wouldn't bother with anything in the 9000 series. Maybe a 8350 or 8370. Though in all actuality, I would say that you'd be better to move over to Intel. AMD's focus has been on APU's and that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon. I haven't heard of anything coming down the pipe to replace the FX line.

My guess is the FX line will be AMD's last attempt at the high end for awhile. To be honest the FX line wasn't really competitive when they first released it. They grab a few multithreaded benchmarks like H.264 second pass, but when it comes to most things, particularly games, Intel's higher IPC wins the day.

Are you overclocking? The 6300/6350 are very good processors when overclocked. With good GPU upgrades, you should be fine for awhile. It would not be worth it to go to an 8350 unless your running heavy-threaded apps.

O yes its at 4.4ghz right now. And all i do is game which is why i dont think the 8350 would be worth it.

I would. But it also depends on the types of games/apps your playing as to the kind of performance gains you would see. CPU dependent games (like Starcraft 2) see very good improvement the higher you go. I noticed a huge difference in fps in SC2 when going from stock clocks to 4.8ghz. In BF4, it was the GPU that gave me big gains.

Overall, at 4.7ghz, you should see noticeable gains. Are you sure you weren't being throttled?

why give false credit to intel. Amd 8350 beat any i3 in video rendering which intel does not give cheaply. In light game which use less cpu i3 beat because the core speed is faster

Like that really matters in a gaming rig, especially when video compression can be done on a GPU far more efficiently than a processor anyway. AMD seriously doesn't have anything to compete in the performance computing arena anymore. There are a few cases that making a headless workhorse rig might be better to throw an AMD CPU in there if you are really tight on budget, but those cases are very few and far between.

Their APUs don't make any sense for a gaming rig, since a Pentium with a real video card will destroy them performance wise for a similar price. If you aren't running any games then any on board will do so you may as well just get a Pentium or an i3 since facebook will run just as well on anything.

Except for their video cards which sometimes come out ahead in price/performance ratios I really don't see how AMD is even relevant anymore in the custom PC builder space.

Would you rather have a monopoly where Intel can charge $300 for an i3? Competition is good for both companies. I'm pretty sure AMD isn't going to give up when it comes to core gamers, they're probably just working behind the scenes on some project to get back into the spotlight. Getting real tired of all the AMD nay-sayers. :/

Seems like I couldn't even find gaming benchmarks, probably because it's too pathetically slow to care. I'll throw out a used Core2Duo and a used 5770.

pretty much same as 6800k as alread said but since we're going used I sold mine for 30£ so you've now just 30£ budget, stop spreading false info toms is about helping people with less knowledge not marketing your chosen favourite h/w.

Your saying a a8 6600K can beat a 5770? I highly doubt that. The only place I coudl find a decent benchmark was http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/351769/fs/2157169 that puts the 5770 at basically twice as fast as the 8570D.
