Besides a 5850 is down to the release price of a 5770. And that's a powerful card.

Powerful, but not quite.
I had both a 5770 and 4670, and I loved them. Performance is nice, but I'd rather not wake the neighbor.

Nope sadly, the last AIW that I remember floating around was a 3650/70 and that was some years ago and haven't seed a 4k or 5k series AIW either. Amazed how quickly old AIW x1900 sells on the second hand market.

Anyone notice that the only difference between the 6670 and 6570 (stat wise and assuming both are the GDDR5 version) is a 650MHz versus 800MHz core clock? And they both use the same Turks GPU. The only way an overclocked 6570 wouldn't match an OC'd 6670 is if they are actually binned based on performance (although AMD barely does that) or if they're heat limited.

Rebranding gives AMD more flexibility to release a wider range of cards. Besides, anyone who would order a dell/HP desktop would probably have a 6670 and think it is high end. It would have been high end if released in 2009. Though the average user would never notice the difference as they are getting very decent performance for most game anyway.

(It's like the S3 virge of the future.)

the Radeon HD 6670 might be interesting for low profile, single monitor gaming. For those on a budget, and want to upgrade their network server, office or online pc to play some games!

Already out there. It is called 6870. In case you are looking for 6770, it is only a renamed 5770.

If the HD6670 is at least as powerful as a HD5750 but needs no auxiliary power, I'll probably buy one.

Yeah, because they are mainstream cards. Mainstream cards usually handle all games, but not at the highest settings.

Rebrand?!? both of you should know this is a whole new designs. You have 80 more SP for both the 6570and 6670 compared to the prior 5570 and 5670. Same goes with the 6450 from the 5450, 80 more sp. These are all probably still VLIW5(VLIW4 is only on the 69xx series and is meant for the die shrink with other new features). This is not a rebrand! This is a new design with UVD3.0(in contrast to the 2.0 on the 5xxx series). So you have HDMI 1.4(3d capability) and DP 1.2 on all of these cards being an ability. On the mobile side is where some serious rebranding happened(every other card). But all these desktop parts are true advancements, not a rebrand.
