I'm trying to upgrade an old desktop from an intel board w/i3 3220, to an ASRock B760M with i5 12600KF. The board posts and goes to bios screen, but the boot menu seems garbled.
I put the mSATA drive from the old board in a 2.5" SATA adapter after the cloned image on the WD 500G platter drive didn't work either. I had planned on using the free upgrade to Windows 11, but couldn't on the old platform. Has anyone run into this before?

You can't boot off the old drive with the older OS, you will need to reinstall the OS since you've swapped onto a newer, latter gen motherboard. Another observation is that you have the rams in the wrong slots, they should be in slots A2 and B2.

I meant the new copy of windows. That's how you start on a brand new system, isn't it? I thought I could download a fresh copy of W11 and make a boot drive on a USB stick.
