Hey all. I finished my newest build (also my first) around a month ago, with no issues. There were a couple of misboots with my RAM but I swapped the sticks around and it was no big deal. I plugged my old monitor into my onboard slot (it was vga, there wasn't a vga one on my video card) and went along with my windows installation. Nothing was wrong or has gone wrong with that setup.
HOWEVER! When I got my new monitor, a nice 23" HP, I decided I would plug it into my video card (again, an old Sapphire HD 3870) only to find it would not produce picture. My computer would turn on, and it seemed like it would run just fine. It was giving me an error code A2 and then A6 on my dr. Debug. A6 after googling around is just a generic "Something went wrong" code. I thought that was odd. Going into my BIOS with my monitor plugged into onboard, I cannot see the video card at all in the PCI slot I have it in. Normally, one would assume that it was either the video card OR the motherboard slot. However, strange things happen. Although my BIOS does not pick up the card, the fan spins. Quite normally, I would add. Also, sometimes when I hold the delete button to try and get into my BIOS with the video card, on occasion I will see the ASRock splash screen, and be able to press delete, but before I can get into the BIOS the monitor will go to sleep, like it's not recieving any picture.
My build as is follows, if it helps.
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Mobo
Intel i5 3570k @ 3.4 GHz
Corsair 650TX 650 Watt PSU
Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
(The RAM came with my mobo)
Thanks in advance for any help.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have indeed pressed the "Clear CMOS" button on the back multiple times as per some of the other sources google has returned.
