My new Asus GTX770 will be arriving today to replace an EVGA GTX770. I was having some driver and/or compatability issues with the EVGA card on my Asus Maximus VI board. I was using driver 320.49 (WHQL). I updated my MOBO BIOS and uninstalled my drivers before taking the old card out. My plan is to mount the card, boot up and clean install fresh drivers. I'm hoping that the Asus GTX will have a newer/more compatable BIOS.
Questions:
1. Is there any benefit to resetting my CMOS before booting up with the new card? I won't be able to access the battery once the card is mounted.
2. What drivers are people successfully running with GTX770's on Z87 MOBOs? Would a BETA driver, or Legacy driver be worth considering over the WHQL for any reason?
3. Are there any "driver components" that I should skip installing? Ones that may have caused my issues last time? The custom install list is as follows:
- 3D Vision Controller Driver
- 3D Vision Driver
- HD Audio Driver
- NVIDIA GeForce Experience
- PhysX
Thank you very much for any tips/suggestions
