So to prelude this I will say I did all the normal checks. And rebuilt the system outside the case a couple times with no success. I am typing this with all the same components on my previous motherboard. So I know everything works fine. System Specs are as follows:
FX6300, crucial ballistix sport 1600 2x4gb sticks, crossfire sapphire 7790, cooler master gx750 watt, samsung ssd.

So now to the problem. I just got the new mobo today (ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0). It was an open box item, but the guy at fry's said the guy who bought it did it blind not knowing anything and he had an intel cpu so he pretty much just opened it up and put it back and returned it. They "said" it worked fine when I asked about it. So when I put all the completely functioning hardware in, and go to boot, the cpu indicator light comes on (no beeps). And the computer will not post, or allow me to shut down without turning off the power supply. I rebuilt the system a couple times and looked over everything I can think of. I read the manual through and couldn't find anything I thought I might be missing. Y'all think its a doa or am I missing something?

Solution
To reset bios > There is CMOS Jumper :

1.) Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
2.) Move the jumper cap from pins 1-2 ( default ) to pins 2-3. Keep the cap on pins 2-3 for about 5-10 seconds, then move the cap back to pins 1-2.

P.S. If bios version is too old for your CPU - mobo cant start. If so - you will temporary need more old CPU. If mobo will start - update bios. If still no start - mobo may be bad.

I did the reset switch thing and no dice...and I can't possibly imagine the mobo would need a bios update since its just an fx6300. And my older asrock board was just fine. Conclusion, motherboard doa. Thanks for the help.
