Today I received my new PSU ( EVGA 500w 80+) and my new Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB. When I install the 750Ti and boot it, I get stuck at the splash screen for a minute with a single beep occurring every so often.

I have looked all over the place and found it may be a bios update but mine is the latest version. I also found that 750Ti need UEFI, which I don't know of I have.

So does anyone know if it is me needing a UEFI or if the issue is something else?

It could have been a BIOS update needed, but if you are sure you already checked then we can rule that out.

Perhaps try booting the PC up using the display ports on your motherboard, and see if you can make it boot like that. If it works, go ahead and install Windows (I assume you haven't already) and get the latest drivers, updates, and whatever you can find. Use a CD if the GPU came with one also.

I hope this helped, and if it still doesn't work then please reply with what happens and I'll try and help you :)

I tried booting using the motherboard's display ports as well as my old GPU (AMD 6450) and they both boot successfully, the 750Ti is the only one that wont boot. As for installing Windows, I already have Windows 10 installed along with the latest drivers and the CD and drivers that came with the 750Ti won't launch, unless I have the 750Ti installed.

If it makes anything easier the system i have now is HP Pavilion p6-2053uk (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03104401) and the Motherboard I am using is the H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX (Cupertino2) (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02978278)

Would the 750Ti have any compatibility issues with these?

I don't think compatibility would be a factor. Did you uninstall the drivers for the AMD 6450 before installing the new 750 TI? IF not, your computer is basically trying to run a GPU with drivers that belong to a completely different card. It's like trying to put an Intel processor in an AMD socket, ya know? If you haven't uninstalled the AMD 6450 drivers, go back and do that. Then replace the card and I think the 750TI drivers will install once you boot up. Hope this works!

Hmm. Darn, I would've thought that would be the issue. Does your motherboard happen to have a POST-BIOS-LED (not sure if that's exactly what it's called). Basically it's a square that displays numbers corresponding to the test codes the motherboard preforms upon boot. If you have one, check to see if there's a code. If so, check the motherboard's manual and look for the BIOS error codes.

Also, for that single beep you hear... Check the motherboard's manual as well to see what the issue might be. For my motherboard, it would beep 3 times then pause when I had a memory issue a few weeks ago. The manual probably has a graph that explains what each beep series means. One beep might be PCI issue. 2 beeps might be CPU issue. It's different for every motherboard.

Okay, so I got the 750Ti finally working. Apparently someone had already posted a fix for it here on the forums, guess I didn't look hard enough.

Incase anyone was wondering here is a link to the post where I found the fix, which came from jupiter39 http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1892770/computer-freezing-bios-installing-gtx-760.html

Also here's a video showing how to perform the steps provided by jupiter39 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkBTSlBW2oc (not my video by the way.)

Everything is working perfectly, although, everytime I restart my computer I have to perform the steps again in order to get it to boot, but hey, it works.

Thanks to every who posted, even though I had already tried your suggestions, good to see people trying to help and I hope this fix works for you too Justine Keith.
