[SOLVED] New Build £1.5-2k - Gaming + Streaming.

I'm looking to buy a completely new rig within the upcoming month or two and would appreciate your feedback on whole builds or just small must haves in your opinions.

Approximate Purchase Date: 1-2 months

Budget Range: £1.5-2k

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming - Streaming - Other browsing tasks

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: All

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anywhere with reliable UK shipping and good returns policy

Location: England

Parts Preferences: Nvidia GPU. Heard good things about NVENC on the new cards.

Overclocking: I'm a safer overclocker. I won't be pushing my CPU to its limits or breaking any boundaries but will likely OC it to a nice degree.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: A quality 1080p/1440p monitor with high refresh rates / response time etc

Additional Comments: PC aesthetics aren't important to me. Suitable tower for room, airflow and quiet as possible fans with good cooling are my priorities over looks. If I can have both that's nice. I have a 500gb samsung evo ssd 2.5" but will require another TB at least in SSD space for future storage.

Thanks for your list. Any reason you went with the 3700x? I heard they closed the gap on intel but I was thinking with the NVENC on the new NVIDIA cards maybe i7 9700k might be the choice due to single core speed and what I assume is a smoother experience on most games with an intel CPU. Read some issues on some games to do with ryzens and memory tweaking to get the best from them or something? BFV for example. I am perfectly open to 3700x just being devils advocate from my limited knowledge.

The 9700k does have better single-core performance than a 3700x, especially when overclocking. Generally when streaming demanding games the extra threads the 3700x has will be of benefit.

The 3700x has 16 threads while the 9700k has 8.

Not sure how much the benefit is with NVEC.

3rd generation ryzen does have decent ram support. The faster the ram usually merits faster better performance.

If you buy a 3200 or 3600 mhz kit all you need to do is turn XMP on in bios and performance should be good.

Sounds nice. Like I said I'm not sure which the better choice would be when considering NVEC. As far as I know if I'm using NVEC CPU usage issues whilst streaming won't be an issue since it's through GPU and apparently these new cards utilise it a lot better than before, making it very viable to stream with it. Thanks for the clarification on the 3700 and memory comment. Going to give it a big consideration.

Some interesting info. I suggest you check out some of his videos. BTW the bottom is 8700k, not 9700k.

I'm not a streamer, so he can explain things better than I ever can.
