Howdy,
I am looking to overclock the CPU up to at least the 3.6-3.8 range, also I will probably slightly OC any graphics card that I get.
CPU -
i7 920 D0 Stepping
CPU HSF -
XIGMATEK Dark Knight-S1283V 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler - Retail
Thermal Compound -
OCZ OCZTFRZTC Freeze Extreme Thermal Conductivity Compound - Retail
Motherboard -
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Case -
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail
PSU -
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Retail
Video Card -
Not really sure on this, trying to decide between a HD 4890, a GTX 275, or a GTX 285. Will the listed PSU have enough power for 2-card SLI/Crossfire of any of those? I have about $330 left over in the budget and I would like to be able to play at 1920x1200, high settings on most games. (ArmA 2 primarily)
Memory -
OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P1600LV6GK - Retail
HDD -
2x Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drives - OEM in RAID 0
Optical Drive - LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X (CAV) DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - OEM
Total: $1171.91 w/ shipping and tax, w/o MIR and cost of video cards.
Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a nice monitor, I have around $400 to spend on one that I left out of the budget for the rig. Right now I'm thinking about the Samsung T240HD.
Edit: Completely forgot about thermal compound and an optical drive.
