Wanted to double check on this build before I finalized this order.

Nice selection, I guess I would remove the raptors and get 2x WD Caviar Black 640's and raid them (raid 0). Then with money saved i would get 2x GTX 275's and Sli them for some serious firepower.....

There is hardly any speed difference when you compare a 640 Black to any raptor.

I have benchmarked both and they are almost identical as far as nubers go....And for your surprise the 640 Black is faster in some tests....I have a raptor (300GB) that I purchased a while back and now I regret it en every way.... But this is solely my opinion...

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1600x1200 x2 in duelview

Ok when you say "dualview", do you mean a mirror view (both monitors show the same thing), a span view (the monitors basically act as one), or a split view (each monitor is independant of the other, one primary, one secondary)?

I suppose it doesn't really matter because I'd still recommend investing in a nice new monitor that will get you 1920x1200 resolution. Spanning the monitors was a feature of XP that isn't in Vista (or Win 7 as far as I know, but I haven't looked).

I also think both the GTX 295 and the WD Velociraptor HDD's are overpriced. Drop to a GTX 275 and I swear you won't be disappointed, plus you can always grab another in the future for SLI and they will outperform a 295. Drop the raptors and grab (at least) 3 WD Caviar Black HDD's: one for your OS, and 2(+) in RAID 0 for installing everything else to. I think they come in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, and 1TB varieties. The bigger, the better as they will perform faster than their lower capacity brothers.

those monitors must be awesome in span view,

I'd say, get dual 4890's and make your budget $2000, then in September when the 58xx series comes out, get a 5870 X2 as this will cost $400-500 so maxing out your budget and be quite a bit more powerful than the GTX 295.
