I recently built my first PC and after assembling it, I turn the PC on and it responds with 2 beeps with no feedback from the monitor. The fans are working normally. I have tried resetting the CMOS by taking the battery off and putting it back after a few seconds but still get the same results. I also tried placing the memory into different modules. The memory may not be compatible with the motherboard but I do not want to purchase more memory until it is definitely the problem. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

My Specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Video Card: Evga Geforce GTX 770
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX

if you can not trouble shoot it yourself well enough take it to a reputable repair shop and have it professionally tested.
2 long beeps or short beeps? also have you tried replacing the cmos battery and starting up with onboard graphics instaed of a gpu. i know replacing the battery on a new board sounds silly but you have no clue how long that battery was on the shelf before going into the board.

The PC responds with 2 short beeps and you're probably right about the CMOS battery since I bought the motherboard online. I will buy new ones some other day. But could you explain starting up the PC with onboard graphics instead of a gpu? Sorry I don't know much about computers since this is my first time building one.

plug the monitor directly into the motherboards monitor connection port and take the graphics card out. if it starts up ok the the motherboard is fine and so is the ram and cmos. then turn off the pc re-connect the graphics card and plug the monitor in to it and try to start up. if still 2 beeps go back to just motherboard graphics and install the drivers for the graphics card either from a website or disc and the reinstall the card and plug into it. if the problem is still there its either the graphics card is bad or the motherboards pci-e port is bad. ( can be defective even if new)

NormH his CPU doesn't have a baked in GPU (easy to overlook with most modern CPU's having GPU's baked in). So possibly bad Graphics card (GPU) or PCIE slot. Only 2 ways to check 1 try a different graphics card if it works your card (GTX 770) is bad if it doesn't the slot could be defective. Or try your current graphics card in another PC if it works there then the slot on your motherboard could be bad.

ok if the ram has been tested 1 stick at a time in every port with no luck and the onboard graphics arent displaying. it is going to be the cmos.....you are powering down and restarting at each step in the process right?....... if you replace the cmos and still nothing then the mobo is at fault.

it's a memory circuit issue which includes the vram on the gpu. The most common cause is Cmos followed by ram followed by cpu followed by motherboard
