HI guys,
I just recently joined the forums. I have been a long lime reader, but never had an issue I couldn't figure out with a little reading. I never needed to post anything. Anyways, I am glad to be here.
I would like some input on a build. Here is the story. I had some damage occur to my i7 950 build ( IDK what happed, CPU led and dram led will come up and only reset if I reset CPU. The build at stock settings would crash prime 95) and I want to rebuild from what I can salvage. Total to go to computer tower is $2500. I have a mouse/keyboard/ and standard 60hrz asus 23 in.
I do have a working water cooling setup consisting of a 240mmx 55mm radiator, pump, resiovor, and cpu Danger Den Block. My concern is however is debating even if already having this water cooling gear in hand, does Haswell constitue watercooling. Is it worth is the 4th gen cpu.
Here is what else I have.
1000 PSU cooler master
2 SSD drives (one is an Samsung 830)
An older Cooler Master Sniper case I can use
An older Danger den Waterbox plus
a GTX 680 Hydrocopper ( I think I should sell this on ebay honestly and get 2x 780 ti)
I have never used air cooling. I am very much open to it. I never found the time to commit to overclocking, but with many MOBOs having overclocking buttons, perhaps I can go that route. Furthermore, now that I am a member, I might just find someone to walk me through it.
Any suggestions are appreciated
Items considered to buy thus far:
Processor: i74770k or i5 4670k
Graphics Card: 2x 780 ti ( brand undecided)
RAM: gskill trident x 2400 16g
MOBO: Asus maximus 4 formula or hero (depending on cooling)
If I go water cooling setup, should I get the new Asus posiden 780's in sli? or stick with 780 ti air cooled.
Thanks guys
