Approximate Purchase Date: Sooner the better, but if a major technology/price change is imminent I could wait
Budget Range: $1500 - $2000
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Multitasking, Data transfers, Database development, and queries (though much of the crunching is offloaded to cloud these days), some video and audio editing and transcoding
Are you buying a monitor: Yes. Dell SP 2208WFP is the main in my current 3-monitor setup. Other 2 are lower end and smaller. So, I could get a nice one running off of my spiffy new GPU, with the Dell relegated to secondary items while a nice large one takes over the main windows and eliminates one of the crappy monitors
Parts to Upgrade: Complete build
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Usual, not particular to any one of Newegg, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, or other legitimates
Location: Sacramento, CA, USA
Parts Preferences: Lean towards AMD, rare gaming (do not need to chase gaming graphics speed, just processing for video, file transfers, database crunching and memory/storage for multitasking)
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe
Your Monitor Resolution: Open-minded, but want very good quality as viewed 12 hours per day. No professional editing being done.
Additional Comments: Full ATX, Full modular PSU, somewhat upgradeable in future
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Long overdue, have the cash

From PC Part Picker, this is what I came up with as a rough start:
Price Summary:
$289.99 (CPU) + $57.97 (cooler) + MoBo ($195.99) + Memory ($239.98) + Storage ($299.94) + Video Card ($349.96) + Case ($116.98) + PSU ($124.99) + Misc. ($125) = $1,800.80
Remaining needs: Monitor, Sound (card and speakers).
Was shooting for $2000 max, so if there is overkill on other items to allow for sound and monitor, that would help significantly.
Appreciate all of your assistance -- Tom's has helped me build my last two builds.

From PC Part Picker, this is what I came up with as a rough start:
- CPU
- CPU Cooler
- ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler
- $57.97 Amazon
- Very open-minded on items like this
- MoBo
- Memory
- 2x G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR-3200 Memory
- $119.99 Newegg x 2 = $239.98
- Open to suggestions of getting 64 GB or 32 GB -- much difference for mainstream, business use? In the days of SSDs?
- Storage
- 2x ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
- $149.97 Amazon x 2 = $299.94
- Seems to be the hot deal out there right now (ADATA XPG SX8200)
- Video Card
- 2x Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8 GB PULSE Video Card
- $174.98 Newegg x 2 = $349.96
- Crossfire? Single card? This would be a place that could go up in $$ if improvement justifies it or down if unnecessary
- Case
- Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass ATX Full Tower Case
- $116.98 Newegg
- Very open-minded here. Don't need RGB, etc. Emphasis on USB 3.1s A and C, front and back, and connectivity like that vs. gaming.
- PSU
- Misc
- Case fans, thermal compound, ???
- $125?? Wide-open for suggestions for air-cooled fans, etc.
- Sound
- Here I am at a loss and could use help
- Sound card + speakers needed, not sure where to start.
- There is space to place speakers around me
- Emphasize quality (for music, videos, TV) vs. form factor or name brand
