I tried to make my own gaming build, but I am unsure if it is compatible, and whether or not it can run L4D1/2 on max.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=20765407

If anybody has a better build please tell me ^.^ I am trying to keep the PC under $300 with shipping and tax, also before any rebates. I already have a mouse and keyboard.

By the way, does anybody know if I can use the anti-static bags that come with the parts on my hands to prevent static discharge?

Will play most games on low resolutions. Shipping will probably put you considerably over budget, and this is not a great build, but you really should try to raise the budget for the computer if you want anything decent. I would check to see if you can put a 5670 on a PCIe *16 1.0 socket. I'm not sure of it's backwards compatibility.

The problem there is you don't have a CPU cooler. You need to add a cooler like I did for my previous post. Also, I cant see your graphics card choice.

Try this, Keep the HDD and Ram

CPU(with cooler) + Case $142 Combo (I really don't think you need 3 fans. Better CPU.)

PSU: $35 XIGMATEK NRP-PC (Seems to be a quality PSU.)

Mobo: $55 MSI 760GM-P33 AM3 (Cheaper and great reviews!)

Graphics: $85 XFX HD-567X-ZNF3 Radeon HD 5670 1GB (1gb GDDR5!- Decent card at low resolutions)

With a total of: $397 (Sry, had the wrong digit in the 100's place...)

Could you give us the monitor resolution you are planning to use? It would help us determine how much graphics horsepower you need. Also, What about an operating system? Windows 7 itself is about $100 bare minimum.

anyway, here is a Llano Build:

CPU: Llano CPU (A3-3850) @ www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103942 $140

MOBO: Gigabyte FM1 Mobo @ www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128511&Tpk=Gigabyte%20GA-A75M-UD2H @ $100

RAM: Mushkin Enhanced @ Silverline www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226176 cheapest 1600mhz kit with heat spreaders and decent latency @ $41

PSU: Corsair CX-430 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026&Tpk=Corsair%20CX430 good PSU @ cheap price, $45

HDD: cheap hdd (Samsung Barracuda) www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148701&Tpk=ST3500413AS @$40

DVD: Salvage! if not get this @ www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289&cm_re=Liteon_24x_DVD_burner-_-27-106-289-_-Product $19

Case: cheapest case @ www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811154095 $20

Total: under $414

Case was the cheapest i could find, you might not like it. No gpu is required. if have money, bump HDD up to samsung spinpoint F3 and if you can use your old DVD. if you need OS, use Ubuntu for now...

read this: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-a8-3850-llano,2975-19.html and this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4448/amd-llano-desktop-performance-preview/2 Llano seems pretty good to me manu, is there something i'm missing? but like always, a dedicated card will always out perform a integrated card. the mobo is a lot better compared to the other AM2+ mobos people were recommending and @ 1440x900, a 6550D should be enough. when he gets a new screen he could just get another card and hybrid xfire.

^+1

Ok, Latest attempt. I'm using Manu's board, BUT!, it has a combo with a slightly more powerful Ath. II X3 that comes out cheaper than his origonal CPU: $119 Combo

And with this PSU. From all my research this should be a good PSU.

The popular and cheap Cavilr Blue 500GB.

Manu's very capable RAM.

My case recommendation is still a good one. 1 usb port for every internal usb on the motherboard and two fans should be plenty.
Rosewill Blackbone Black Steel

Finally, an overclocked EVGA GTS 450.

Total comes out at $394 before shipping and rebates. This should be a capable system for your needs. You don't need too much for a 1440X900 resolution. You can look for cheaper cases if you want to, but that one has some nice features.

alternative to the WD blue (it isn't better but is an alternative) is the Seagate 7200.12 500gb SATA III ST3500413AS. IMO, try for a cheaper case then get a samsung spinpoint F3 (which keeps up with the WD black)

i wouldnt go with a xigmatec psu(horrible personal experiances), antec would be much better.
the combo cheiftexas has stated is nice.
cheiftexas, you offered the parts, but there total imo would be much higher than 394
